Aldrach Cottage is a single storey, cosy cottage situated on High Street, Bowmore, Islay.
Bowmore is the capital of Islay and Aldrach Cottage is ideally placed for golf, dining out and whisky tours.
Out and About in Bowmore
For golf lovers we are close to the Machrie Hotel and Golf Links. For dining out we are near to the Bowmore Hotel, Lochside Hotel and Harbour Inn Restaurant. If you are hot on the whisky trail then we are a stone’s throw from Bowmore Distillery.
For architecture lovers at the top of Bowmore Main Street around the corner, you will find the famous Round Church. If you are quite active then nearby is the Mactaggart Leisure Centre.
There is cycling, walking and canoeing on Islay, and Bowmore is a fantastic base from which to explore and enjoy the scenery and nature the island is so famous for.
Whisky Heritage
Aldrach Cottage sits in front of a barley field that in July and August turns a beautiful golden colour, before being harvested for our distilleries. We also have a display cabinet full of whisky artefacts that emit a wonderful peaty essence, to give the true distilling aroma to the lover of the single malt.
Aldrach Cottage Accommodation
Aldrach Cottage has three good sized bedrooms that sleeps up to 6 people, ideal for families and small groups. Relax in our lounge that boasts super-fast broadband, DVD player and digital TV and Radio channels. Warm the cockles with our roaring coal fire and for the summer months we have electric heaters.
We have a hoover, ironing board and cleaning products so all you need to bring are your clothes and food!
There are good storage facilities internally and externally should you want to bring bikes.
